What You Will Need

1. wood
2. Mod Podge
3. Printer
4. paint and brushes
5. ribbon
6. Hooks

Step 1

Cut wood to size you prefer. This particular one is 7" long.

Step 2

Sans the edges til smooth. It's ok to leave some rough areas. I like things to look vintage or weathered so I leave the knots and edges kind of rough.

Step 3

Paint a base coat. I used purple in this picture.  This color will show through when you sand it.

Step 4

Paint another coat of paint. I used white in this picture. Let dry.

Step 5

Sand the wood, paying attention to the edges and corners, letting the base coat color bleed through. This will give it a vintage or weathered look.

Step 6

Print out the picture you would like to apply. Cut out the person or shape.

Step 7

Paint a coat of Mod Podge across the board. Lay the picture down flat where you want it positioned. Make sure to run your fingers over it gently to smooth out any bubbles or wrinkles.  You will have to do this every couple minutes until it dries which should take about a half hour.

Step 8

Stencil or draw on your letters or saying. I used a stencil to put "Life's Greatest Blessing" and the footprint. Let dry.

Step 9

Coat one more time with Mod Podge.

Step 10

Screw in hooks on top of wood. Put one on each side of the top of the board. Next, tie ribbon around it to hang up wood plaque.

And Voila! Another do it yourself project done!
