What You Will Need

1. Wood
2. Saw to cut it
 3. Sand Paper or dremel tool
4. Nails
5. License Plate
6. Paint and brushes
7. Sealer
8. Wood glue

Step 1

Cut the wood to your preferred length depending on what size you want.
I did as this:
6 pieces of pine at 1'
2 pieces of plywood, one at 1' x 13'. And another at 1' x 5".

Step 2

Sand the wood, you can beat it up a little with a chain or hammer to make it look vintage or weathered.

Step 3

Pick what color paint you want to stain it. I used blue. Dip a washcloth into water then dip it in the paint and just rub it over the wood.

 Step 4
Take the six pieces of pine and divide them up into three groups of two. Glue each group of two pieces together longways.

Step 5

Nail together the three pieces of painted and glued together wood. so it makes a box with one side open.

Step 6

Nail on on the plywood to the base and back. Now you have a box.

Step 7

Spray sealer on box. Also spray sealer on the license plate, especially if you have a vintage one like I did that is rusted. That will put a barrier between the rust and you but still allow you to have the vintage, weathered look.

Step 8

Attach the license plates with screws or nails. I put an extra board across the front to attach the plates.
